OK so i have this idea

sci-pie:

I wan’t everyone to reblog with their own artwork/story ratio. i.e to me it would be

                                             Artwork 60/40 Story

While there are exceptions to this with some Dark Reign stuff in particular having awful art but I loved the story. I generally love me some great artwork. Hell I would watch Glee if it was drawn by Ed McGuinnes

50/50.

Comics are a visual medium and you need the pictures to tell the story. Otherwise you just have… well a book. Pictures can show you so many things in an instant that words would just take too long to survive.  But at the same time, the story needs to move those pictures along or else you get… a picture book. And then you get Nuff Said issues which are the stupidest things on the face of the planet.

If I get a great story but crappy art then the book takes a hit. If I get some amazing art but horrible story then the book takes a hit. It’s like Ultimates 3 by Jeph Loeb and Joe Madureira. The artwork was freaking insane, it looked incredible. Unfortunately, that comic also came with words.

I feel like absolute crap

I have a cold, I can’t breather through my nose, I keep sniffling which is really uncomfortable and I have a headache.

So I’m going to watch Smallville to cheer me up.

Hammer of the Gods

It’s not so much awful, it’s just that it was a wasted opportunity. Honestly, the premise was great and had my interest, everything just feel flat after that.

Random Question, in regards to you mentioning yesterday that you enjoy Kirkman's writing, did you ever read Marvel Team-Up? (That had Invincible in it too for a crossover issue :P)

No. Although I really want to. I know MWOM went MTU crazy a few years ago but I never picked it up. I’ve heard it’s hit and miss.

30 Day Supernatural Challenge Day 5: Favourite Episode

Swan Song

image

There are many brilliant things about this episode. There’s so much to say about it, why it’s my favourite episode, what it does well, how it does it and why it’s quite possibly my favourite hour of TV ever.

The prominent reason is because it makes me cry like a little girl.

Yeah, I like crying like a little girl at TV. Anything that makes you do that has done something right to me. It’s made you feel sympathy with the characters and connect with them. After 104 episodes, Sam and Dean were almost like my own brothers. Super duper corny to say but oh well.

Really, it’s the last 15 minutes that make this episode so brilliant. Lucifer is in control of Sam and is beating the crap out of Dean horribly. Dean is a bloodied mess and isn’t even fighting, he’s just taking these punches because he says as there’s a brief pause in the battle:

Sammy, it’s ok. It’s ok, I’m here. I’m here, I’m not gonna leave you.

Awww. The weepy eyes begin.

Then as Sam is to deliver the final punch to end Dean’s life, he see’s a small little army man in the ashtray of the Impala. Cue the flashbacks of the past 5 seasons with the brothers in the Impala together, having fun together, saving the world together, being brothers together. Them, together. And through this Sam pulls through and the little girl persona in me is coming out.

Then Sam takes control of Lucifer and falls into Hell. And I cried for 5 minutes.

And that’s why Swan Song is the best episode. Because I got so connected to Sam and Dean that I was crying with them, feeling their pain. I have no good conclusion to this so I’ll end it there. Swan Song is an incredible episode and I doubt it will ever be beaten.

Haha, I don’t think I’ll hate it. I’ve heard great things about it and Kirkman is easily one of the best writers out there now. Obviously Walking Dead and Invincible will be very different in tone and style but it’s something I still want to check out.

30 Day Supernatural Challenge Day 4:Least Favourite Season

Season 1

image

Honestly, I don’t dislike any of the seasons, this is just my least favourite due to how predictable and repetitive it is. Each episode starts (minus the Pilot) starts off with random civilian getting killed by the Monster of the Week. Cue title card.

Sam and Dean see this and go down to the state where the killings happened. Bit of investigative work, maybe a early clash with the monster which they lose and in the end, they find the monster, kill it and the episode ends.

Still, there are some great episodes to be had here including the Pilot, Home, Faith, The Benders and Devils Trap to name a few. Just that it’s quite dull in places and the format gets a little old by the end of the season.

Issue 5 of Astonishing Spider-Man came...

… meaning I have the whole Clone Saga printed in the series.

I know many hate it but I’ve read it when I was 12 and didn’t understand any of it so this will be almost like a first time reading it.

And I really can’t wait.

30 Day Supernatural Challenge Day 3:Favourite Season

Season 2

image

Although my favourite episode is in Season 5, Season 2 is my favourite. For Seasons 1 and 2 I watched the show when I got slightly bored with nothing to do. This seemed to happen a fair few times but this changed when watching Season 2, mainly the episode ‘Heart’. In it, the brothers meet their first werewolf but the circumstances afterwards are tragic. I’m not going to spoil what happens but it was that episode in the season that got me hooked. There was plenty of comedy, drama but it also had an incredibly emotional ending that really kicks in hard the brothers relationship.

Add to this a fantastic season finale and plenty of varied episodes that further explore the mythology, give plenty of laughs and emotion and you have a hell of a season that is guaranteed to keep you hooked.

I really shouldn't watch cartoons anymore...

… I’m always getting irritated at how people survive such huge explosions or suffer horrible injuries which are never gory but they still walk away from. Or just stupid things that make no sense.

Ah Sickipedia you make me laugh...

… but then again, you really shouldn’t.
